Custom Blocks, Swell Chat Improvements, V2 API and More

We've been busy. This week we pushed a ton of code. We've got a lot of ground to cover so let's dive in.

Custom Blocks

We've been talking about custom blocks for weeks and they are finally ready.

What are custom blocks

We are excited to announce a new feature update for our Swell platform - Custom Blocks. With Custom Blocks, our users now have the freedom to create their own custom prompts and save them for future use in all their projects within Swell.

The idea behind Custom Blocks is to give our users more creative control and enable Swell to generate output based on their custom prompts. Users can now test and write their own prompts to get Swell to perform tasks based on the imported content. This is made possible by the use of a custom agent that we have created specifically for this task. The agent is like a little robot that lives within Swell, with unique characteristics and skill sets that we have trained it to perform.

This update is a significant step towards enhancing the Swell platform and providing our users with more flexibility in their content creation. Custom Blocks will revolutionize the way users can utilize Swell and generate output based on their unique needs.

We are thrilled to offer this feature update to our users and look forward to seeing the incredible things they will create using Custom Blocks.

Why did we build them

The idea behind Custom Blocks was born out of the understanding that everyone has their unique way of creating show notes, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. With Custom Blocks, users now have the flexibility to generate show notes precisely as they envision them.

This feature update not only empowers our users to create show notes in their own unique style, but it also lays the foundation for future content creation possibilities. We envision the potential to create any content that users can imagine based on top of these custom outputs.

By stringing together these custom outputs, we can create a cohesive and unified document where all the content makes sense and feels like one big document. This update provides clarity on what was previously written and ensures that the content flows seamlessly from one custom output to another.

The possibilities are endless with this update. Users can now imagine the exact content they want to create and bring it to life with Swell's Custom Blocks. We are excited to see how this update will help our users take their content creation to the next level and look forward to hearing their feedback.

Their future

With our new Custom Blocks feature, we envision a future where users can create full-length blog posts, write entire books, and conduct product research based on audio or video imported into Swell.

The possibilities with Custom Blocks are endless. Users can create templates that can be used repeatedly by anyone within their organization, making Swell a powerful content engine and pipeline for media companies looking to build their brands. With this update, Swell becomes a one-stop-shop for content creation, allowing users to generate media for their brands quickly and easily.

Our Custom Blocks feature will also be callable from an API, meaning that users can integrate their custom templates with Swell and use them for any audio or video that exists in the world. This expansion of Swell's reach is an exciting development that we believe will change the way companies think about content creation.

We are thrilled about the potential of this new feature and cannot wait to see what our users will create with it. The future of Swell is bright, and we are committed to continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible with our technology.

Swell Chat Improvements

We've received a lot of feedback about SwellChat, and we want to say thank you. Your feedback has been invaluable in helping us improve the platform. One of the biggest changes we've made is creating an agent that can provide better answers to user queries.

This agent is like a little robot that exists within Swell and has special skills that allow it to find relevant information and create an output or response for users asking questions. This means the response quality you receive is 10 times better than before. Plus, you won't get as many responses like "we don't have the answer" even when the answer is there.

For example, the agent is better at guessing bios and finding information discussed in different parts of a podcast. So go ahead and test out SwellChat. If you're interested in custom pricing for embeds of your entire back catalog, reach out to us. We just did this for some other people and we'd be happy to do it for you too.

Reach out for custom pricing if want to get Swell Chat embeds made for all your back catalog. We just did this for a client last week.

V2 API

Swell has introduced V2 API, which is now in beta and allows users to create custom content using predefined templates that include custom blocks. With the new custom block push, each time a custom block is created, it generates a block ID that can be used to create templates.

These templates have a template ID, and both the block IDs and template IDs can be called from the API. The aim of this update is to make Swell more easily integrated into people's workflows and offer the most accessible content pipeline and production system for audio and video content. Swell now offers metered billing for enterprise clients who are including the API into their product. This metered billing is based on the time of upload, and the cost is per hour. Additionally, users can choose a minimum amount per month, and the pricing will vary based on usage. Anyone interested in this feature can contact Swell for custom pricing.
